Edited Review - Great Customer Service

I've had a lot of Pestemal towels lately and have ordered 6 from different brands in the last month so I have something to compare. The blue striped towel I bought is CRAZY, the thinnest fabric of them all. It's THINNER than a sheer linen t-shirt (it's also sheer so will hold up in any light). The color in the photo is much richer than the real towel, which while accurately reproducing the shades, is not as bright. It might have something to do with subtlety. The bag is cute so I'm giving it 3 stars because my other towels didn't come with the bag so it's an added value. The thinness can be an advantage if you want to travel with the smallest Pestemal-sized bath towel. Of course, the thicker the material, the more space you need in your luggage. It would also be a nice shawl/shawl/lightweight cloak/blanket, so some people might be very happy with it. While I definitely see benefits for some people who need to travel light and need the thinnest large towel or ultra-lightweight beach "blanket," it doesn't really absorb enough water to use as a post-shower towel for most people to use. . Edited Review: After I complained about the blue striped towel, the seller contacted me and explained that of all the towels on offer, the blue stripe is the thinnest of all. They would happily trade me for a thicker towel, which turned out to be all the rest of their listed towels. I originally wanted a Fish towel which was sold out at the time of my order so I went with the blue stripe because I liked the horizontal stripes instead of the 'normal' vertical stripe direction. The towel, as mentioned in my original review, is thin (not necessarily a con, depending on intended use). The seller pointed out that hand weaving the horizontal stripes in the blue striped towel is much more difficult than the vertical stripes, so they are made thinner to save the pulling back and forth. I chose a fish towel that is out of stock so it took a while to get and renew. The fish towel is great! It fully met my expectations, if not exceeded them. If the blue stripe was difficult to weave, then I don't know how they made this fish pattern! The darker outline of the fish stands out slightly against the rest of the fabric, creating a subtle three-dimensional effect. Nice! The fabric is at least twice as thick as her blue striped towel. The fish towel I received from their new shipment is larger than what is listed. Beautiful out of the box, I tossed it in the washing machine (cold) and tumble dry on low heat to shrink before measuring. It is now 68 inches long on the belt, off the dryer, but judging by my now large stack of Pestemals from other vendors, the same size as the other 70 inch towels I've bought. This is part of the towel, not counting the fringes. The fringes are much shorter here, measuring about 1 inch on each side. Photos of the other towels featured here have longer fringes, apparently the fish towel was out of stock at the time of this review update. The new fish towel has a thin white border below the end of the fish pattern that elongates the towel itself. There are no tassels on the edges, just a 1 inch border. I prefer that this look looks a little better than traditional tassels and is a lot easier to use than a modern airplane scarf/shawl/blanket. The fringes have withstood regular shaking in the washing machine and very long spins in the dryer at low temperatures with no signs of fraying or damage. Should be strong despite the lack of knots or tassels. No foreign smells, neither new nor after washing. After washing (I only use vinegar, no detergent) it smells like cotton. exactly how it should be. What I like the most is that the fabric is a little wrinkled after washing, like cotton gauze clothes but much thicker. Think THICK cotton gauze. For lack of a better word, it looks and feels. fluffy. Just a beautiful, wonderful texture and I think it absorbs water very well, like a pestemal towel, and dries really quickly too. The bag has also changed. The bag with this set has 2 pull tabs at the bottom, a drawstring at the top, and a cord wrapped around the pull tabs so that when you pull the cord, there is a "loop" of the 2 sides of the cord, not loose cords. What a cool little freebie bag! The fabric is coarse cotton, like light muslin. I love the bag as much as the towel, it's adorable. I did a funny thing. When I threw the towel in the washing machine, I accidentally put a bag in it too. Included in the package was a small booklet from the manufacturer about their product. Most people, myself included, just throw it away when they unwrap it after reading it. At first I didn't notice, so he went to the washing machine. I forgot to close the lid on my washing machine which meant it didn't spin for about an hour or two so it took a lot longer to soak the vinegar. Guess what? The little book survived the machine wash, which took several hours longer than it should have. Your booklet is printed on either cotton or hemp paper. I noticed that too, it was still legible (but faded)! To put that detail/effort printed booklet that could endure 4 hours of stirring and soaking in vinegar. Effort and expense even for the part that people thoughtlessly throw away. The strong excitement of the washing machine left protruding threads on the bag, which I trim without damaging the integrity of the bag. But one part of the brochure impressed me. The towel and bag combo turned out so well from every angle! Finally customer service. Wow. I have listed all my complaints with the seller and they really did everything to make me happy. I wasn't upset with the first towel but it wasn't what I wanted. They went out of their way to get me what I wanted, the fish towel they sold, and still haven't returned to Revain (I assume they will). And in a better version than indicated in the description. Trust me, you need a fish towel if you love pestemal towels and it's back in stock! Of all my Pestemal towels, this fish towel is now my favorite. It's weird to call a towel beautiful, but it's just beautiful. If you love fabrics for their own sake, like me, then this is it. From the texture, the feel, the softness, the beautiful pattern, the craftsmanship, to the special attention to detail in a bonus bag that no one else gives you . From this fabric you can sew a skirt or shirt and proudly wear it anywhere. I'm sitting here wrapped up in my fish towel for a scarf and grinning like an idiot because it makes me happy. THEREFORE I buy things, some of which I don't need because they make me happy. Well I'm happy :). Thanks Mebienne, I hope you sell a lot of these but I think your buyers will be the lucky ones.
