My beard is curly and I needed something that would give a secure hold without drying, flaking or powdering 15 minutes after application. I was initially hesitant just because it seems like we're going from one product to another everyone saying it does what you want, only to find out it doesn't fit the bill perfectly. This lipstick worked for me. Slightly dampen the beard, apply as needed, comb through as needed, done. I can go all day in this lipstick and not have to worry about looking like a scruffy bully when I come home at the end of the day. This is my usual look anyway, but for work and social events it's nice to have something that finally works.
