These shoes don't deserve New Balance. The heel is soft, but the lack of arch support *at all* actually causes my feet to pierce when I normally wouldn't pierce. The height of the sock is so low that my fingers bump into very thin fabric and no doubt rub quickly as others have mentioned. Padding under the ball of the foot would be better with a pharmacy odor control insert to replace the NB insert in the shoe. I have worn New Balance shoes for many years. This is a big failure. Very disappointed.
