This year I bought this pair and another pair of Mary Jane shoes for my daughter to go to school. It was a prettier version of the famous brand and the others were random brands and about ten dollars cheaper. Although she wears both, she prefers the cheaper ones in terms of comfort and leg volume. Additionally, the cheaper pair still look brand new after four months of playground play, while the Stride-Rite shoes (I bought the brown ones) are looking very worn on the toes. The brown fabric frayed where it scratched or slipped off the shoes. Overall I had higher expectations for these shoes as they are a well known brand and are more expensive. Next year we'll take the cheapest.
