After thoroughly researching headphones in the $50-$100 price range, I'm convinced that this is one of the best, if not the best, option. I had never heard it before buying it, but based on the many positive reviews on several audiophile sites, as well as the description of the sound signature, I had to try it myself. Upon opening the packaging, I was immediately struck by the precision and attention to detail that has gone into the product itself and even the packaging. The cable feels durable and easily resists tangling. Wire shorts have been a big problem with other brands and judging by the build quality I'm sure I won't have that problem with them. I checked the areas where the cable connects to other parts like the headphones and microphone. Again, given the solid construction, I have no doubt that these headphones will last a lot longer than my previous purchases. The set includes a round headphone case made of durable but not rigid material. Inside the case there is a small compartment, a mesh pocket, which can be used to store extra earphones. I found this useful when experimenting with different earbuds. Once I've found the perfect fit, it's incredibly useful for storing extra tips as I like to change them up often. The case closes well and is just as well made as the earbuds themselves. Carrying it in your pocket doesn't easily crush the case, making it invaluable when transporting. I bought a pair of Gun Metal Gray and was very happy with their color and texture. The earbuds have some weight due to the metal construction. However, this does not mean that they are clunky in the ears or fall out during use. Rather, the weight further enhances the feel and performance of a quality device. The concave design allows for easy insertion into the ears, while the concave back allows for easy insertion into the ear canal. The button in the microphone section makes a big difference and clicks nicely when pressed. I listen to a wide variety of music across genres, so finding a pair of headphones that conveyed the raw energy of indie was important to me. Rock, acoustic guitar fidelity, thumping bass and snappy EDM electronics, the list goes on. They excel in every genre of music I've tested them with. Accuracy is the word that best describes them, not just design accuracy but sonic fidelity as well. They're not very bassy like most headphones in this price range. They are clear and precise, with a warm, natural tone. The microphone picks up voice particularly well and I didn't have a single problem being heard on the other line. Others say my voice sounds clear with no problems. If you're considering headphones in the $50-$100 price range, these Meze 11 NEOs deserve serious consideration. I've had many $100 pairs that don't compare to them in terms of sound or build quality. I can't speak for them enough at this price point. Don't be put off by the lower ratings of these compared to other options. Check out the reviews elsewhere on the web and you'll find a clear trail of positive reviews from audiophiles and experts alike.
