These Irwin Airplane Scissors are well made and meet my needs. I use them for trimming and scoring various gauge sheet metal, air ducts, and metal hanger straps. They are also good for trimming light frame recessed rails for rough handling when they are too long to fit between joists or straps. The same applies to metal bolts and device box guides. The scissors have an overall length of about 10 inches and make nice smooth, straight cuts for trimming the edges and corners of flat stock. I can also smooth out the 4 inch metal duct on the dryer vent and bathtub exhaust fan if I undo the seam and lay it half flat as I cut. Overall these shears are decent and suitable for regular use so I would buy them again should the need arise.
