Foreword: I'm an animator, many Cables and external solid state drives. Bought because I bought an M1 MacBook Pro and it comes with a frustrating 2 USB-C outputs. I saw this Satechi product that just came out and after seeing that Apple also recommends the Satechi product I bought it. I'm very happy that it comes with a detachable USB-C cable as it makes the USB hub travel-friendly. This also makes it a great hub as it has 2 USB-C ports, one for charging and the other for connecting a USB-C SSD that I have. Using this with the M1 allows me to charge directly into the M1 via one of its ports and also plug it in and charge my phone and plug in a USB-C SSD. It's difficult to find a hub that fulfills all the functions of 2 USB-C once you've delved deep into the USB-C ecosystem. Ethernet is an added bonus. I wish there was another port instead of the VGA out. I also wish it came with some sort of sheath as I've seen this hub get pretty thrashed in a backpack. Overall very happy with my purchase.
