Works great when plugged in

In a sea of dongles, no one seems to understand what real users need when it comes to building a great MacBook Pro or air hub with Thunderbolt ports. However, this device from Satechi is recommended as it offers the very basic and essential connections that most people need. Firstly, a minus point is that for this hub to do anything, on the one hand it has to be plugged in to the USB-C PD port with power, without power it doesn't even prepare an SD card, so just plug it in and you can use it…

Pros
  • IDEAL FOR PERIPHERALS - Ideal for wired mice, keyboards, USB hard drives, etc. The adapter has two USB-A data ports, one USB-C data port and micro card /SD slots -Storage. , connect many peripherals. Data ports don't support charging or video output
Cons
  • Useless features

By user M1. - Computers and accessories

Foreword: I'm an animator, many Cables and external solid state drives. Bought because I bought an M1 MacBook Pro and it comes with a frustrating 2 USB-C outputs. I saw this Satechi product that just came out and after seeing that Apple also recommends the Satechi product I bought it. I'm very happy that it comes with a detachable USB-C cable as it makes the USB hub travel-friendly. This also makes it a great hub as it has 2 USB-C ports, one for charging and the other for connecting a USB-C SSD

Ideal for your Mac

I had an issue with my MacBook Pro's USB hubs getting very hot. It had my external hard drive connected to it, which is where I store all my data, so I was nervous about the hubs getting unnecessarily hot. I tried different brands and they were all pretty shockingly hot. I went to an Apple Store and asked which hub would work best with a Mac, and the store clerk recommended the brand and explained that he's never had a problem connecting a hub. hot. Although it cost a lot more than other…

Pros
  • 4K HDMI DISPLAY - Features a 4K HDMI port (up to 60Hz) and an optional VGA port (up to 1080p 60Hz) for more display options whether you're in your home office or at a customer presentation. Supports one display at a time or mirroring all together

That thing rocks! for USB hubs

Out of 4 USB-C hubs/docking stations I've bought, this is the first one I've had no problems with. Only the detachable cable is worth the extra charge in this price range. One docking station I bought for use at home has issues with USB-C and DP ports, another hub I received with a fixed 6" USB-C cable has unreliable USB-C -Connection. "Monitor. I've only tried this once and outbound USB-C doesn't connect a monitor (but it could be me), but given the price and hassle-free nature, it's worth it.

Pros
  • UNIQUELY PORTABLE - Includes two detachable USB-C cables - a short, travel-friendly version that plugs into an adapter for easy storage, and another 1 meter cable that's ideal for desktop use to hide messy cables
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Quick response with external monitor

I have a 2020 16" MacBook Pro and have tried several hubs that offer what I was looking for: under $100, can be charged independently or via mains, Ports USB A, HDMI and SD card slot. Most importantly, I can connect to my 34" Acer monitor quickly and cleanly. Among other things, VAVA was very slow to respond to the monitor (sometimes over a minute). The HyperDrive was slightly better but didn't like the fact that it took up 2 of the 4 USB C ports but this little one got the job done and…

  • Nice packaging

  • Can't remember
