I had an issue with my MacBook Pro's USB hubs getting very hot. It had my external hard drive connected to it, which is where I store all my data, so I was nervous about the hubs getting unnecessarily hot. I tried different brands and they were all pretty shockingly hot. I went to an Apple Store and asked which hub would work best with a Mac, and the store clerk recommended the brand and explained that he's never had a problem connecting a hub. hot. Although it cost a lot more than other brands, I decided to give it a try and I'm sure I'm glad I did. While this hub feels slightly warm, it doesn't come close to the alarming heat levels my previous hubs generated. I feel safe plugging in my devices while I'm working. It's worth your money.
