I doubted them because they were active bookshelf speakers. I was pleasantly surprised at how it sounded. Bluetooth, optical and line devices ensure good sound. I removed the depression star because they didn't work well with my player. I loved all the things that "work great with the turntable" that didn't require me to buy a turntable preamp. This is a typical chipboard case. The EQ is just a knob that adds more treble or more bass. You cannot adjust the high, middle and low frequencies separately. With remote control or handles. The remote control is thin and light. The pause button if linear, optical or BT only mute not mute (with bluetooth).
