Absolute waste of money

This is the most disappointing multifunction printer I have ever experienced. This multifunction printer is an endless source of frustration. Constantly gives error 100016. . . This is a constant problem if you search the internet that has proven to be virtually unsolvable. You will see all sorts of suggestions to fix the error, but none of them are from Epson. This error keeps repeating itself. I can usually resolve the error by turning off the printer, removing and reinserting both paper trays, removing and reinserting the rear access cover, then removing and reinserting the black ink cartridge, and then turning the printer back on. This has become a less reliable way to fix this error. I've recently tried removing all of the aforementioned detachable devices from the machine and then dropping the printer onto the desk from a height of about 6 inches, with occasional success. . . Seems to reset whatever is causing problems from time to time. If not, I just keep fiddling with the printer until it works again. This printer has only changed 2 inks in its lifetime. At the moment it's the second set of cartridges that is over 90% full and that's the only reason the machine isn't in the trash. . . I'm just trying to get this machine running long enough to use up this overpriced ink before the machine breaks down. Just like FYI. . . I have another non Epson multifunction printer that works great so I just keep this Epson for entertainment purposes when I feel like working on getting it to work and hoping I come across a solution, where it really continues to work. Otherwise . . . . The number of days spent in my office is limited by the life of the ink cartridges. Additionally, I've spent countless hours getting various other features of this machine to work. . . namely a scanner that seems to have a mind of its own. If Epson has a cure for this problem, I certainly couldn't get it.

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
