I use a variety of linear actuators on various projects and often don't need the 250lb of force that many offer with the bulky dimensions that come with it. These small devices only weigh about 4 pounds, but are relatively fast (about 1 cm (1/2 inch) per second) and very quiet. Due to their small size and the fact that the engine is in line with the drive axle and not to the side like most larger units, they are easier to fit into tight spaces. Like most linear actuators, they stop automatically at the end of their stroke, but this is implemented differently. Travel limit switches with shunt diodes, they have an internal current sensor so that the motor is switched off when the end stop is reached. the engine is switched off. To resume operation, power must be removed and reapplied or, more commonly, reversed to move in the other direction. This method means that if something unexpected happens, like z, nothing will break or burn. Depending on how you design your unit, you can also set the drive to have a mechanical limit and it will stop automatically without the need for its own limit switches - so there's quite a bit of wiring and fabrication that you don't have to do. more. Because it is switched off electronically, the drive still draws very little current (approx. 10mA) even after it has stopped. If you have a particularly power-sensitive system, you may need another way to force the drive to turn off after it completes its movement. The blocks look well constructed. I haven't taken it apart but I think I could - the motor case cover is held on with screws so it can be opened for greasing if needed. The units I purchased did not come with the connector brackets shown in any of the pictures. Also, the speed isn't as fast as the title suggests - it's more like 0.6 inches per second instead of 2 inches per second. I took off a star for those two reasons but I like the actuators and the price is pretty reasonable compared to other items so I would probably buy them again.
