Heated Socks for Men Women Rechargeable, 4000MAH Battery Electric Sock with Remote Control, Foot Warmers for Hiking Camping Ski Hunting by V.StepAs someone whose feet were frost bitten as a child, my wife’s feet are always cold, so she couldn’t wait to try out these heated rechargeable electric socks for use in our cold and windy Minnesota winters. Her first thought is the socks are double lined and pretty thick, so they are warm on their own but slightly difficult to maneuver into the right place on her feet; perhaps similar to putting on a very thick athletic or compression sock, but once that was accomplished she was ready to give them a shot. The instructions were fairly clear, but recharging the batteries did not work according to the instructions. They said that the light on the charger is red when the batteries are recharging, and then it turns green when the batteries are fully charged. This never happened. In fact, I had ordered a pair of these same socks prior to this pair, and I sent them back, thinking that the charger and/or the batteries were defective. This 2nd pair is exactly the same - the charger light stays red the entire time so you never know when the batteries are fully charged. The batteries are somewhat large and stick out from the side of the calf where they are located, but are comfortable once in place. The remote that came with the socks did not communicate with the batteries, so it had to be manually paired with them – explained in the directions. The heating element on high was nice at first as your feet quickly become toasty warm, however continued heat on your toes caused a tingling feeling to radiate into your feet and got uncomfortable for my wife after awhile, but it was very easy for her to adjust the temperature using the remote for whatever setting - cool days at the lowest heat setting or the higher setting for the coldest days.As someone who has struggled with cold feet since childhood, my wife is pleased that this is a real viable option for anyone wanting to keep their extremities warm, however one drawback is anyone who is sensitive to having tight fitting compression on their feet and lower legs may take issue with them and it may not be for them, but honestly worked great for her.Overall, I do feel the heated socks have a place in several niche settings such as skiing or camping, hiking or other outdoor events in colder weather where your feet tend to get cold. I also can see wearing them indoors on cold winter nights when one is just reading or watching TV.Other pluses for this item is that both batteries could be recharged at the same time with one cord. The socks are also labeled left and right and appear very durable. The price point is higher than I was expecting, but a great option for people who constantly suffer with cold feet.
