I don't understand why all the other negative reviewers just can't figure out that swamp coolers only work in DRY climates. If there's moisture in the air, it just won't work. It does not cool warm, humid air. I don't understand how anyone can buy a swamp cooler for a humid climate and then be upset that it doesn't work. However, it works surprisingly well in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, where humidity is typically 20-30%. I left it in my small apartment for a few days and it cooled the apartment down from 86 degrees to 75 degrees. Would definitely recommend if you live in a dry climate but don't want to buy air conditioning.
