After testing my cup warmer and swapping cups for a week, I decided to keep this cup warmer and not return it. I like the way it looks. Looks better than other industrial style heaters in my home. At first I was disappointed with the temperature control. The temperature of the coffee from my Keurig is 135°. After adding cream it is 132°. This heater drops the temperature to warm (110°) within an hour. I thought it might be my ceramic mug which has a slight bulge at the bottom of the mug. I switched to a flat-bottomed glass tumbler. Same low temperature result at 100-105°. Heat loss can occur on the walls of the glass beaker. This device is only 15W. To the lower performance limit for cup warmers. The most powerful heater has an output of 24 watts and has positive reviews except for problems with coffee that is too hot. This device has temperature control so the temperature can be adjusted to suit your needs. Of course it costs more than this heater I bought. I ordered a special stainless steel mug from Revain that is meant for mug warming coasters. It works fantastic. My coffee is still smoking after 1 hour. The average temperature is kept at 120°. Now I'm happy as I like the plain white design but need a special mug. I had a hard time finding a "flat bottomed" mug online, so settled on the only mug that was advertised for use with heating pads. This is important for low power cup warmers.
