Review on Saucony Mens Peregrine Sneaker Black Men's Shoes by Jason Pruett

Bought these shoes for an upcoming ultra (my first) and haven't trained in anything other than standard shoes. Have found they fit perfectly, match my existing Sauconys and are very comfortable. About the same weight too - expect them to be a bit heavier. The main feature I bought them for was the outsole/traction as the trail is mostly dirt/rocky. The grip is great, a big improvement over my standard shoe. Will update to Ultra if necessary to confirm everything is still correct! UPDATE: The shoe was comfortable and worked well overall for the run (it was 27km so not quite ultra). The terrain was difficult, lots of ups and downs and very rocky. The soles suffered, as did my feet! The front left edge of the sole is separating from the boot and there are some fairly large tears on the sole itself. Disappointed as I expected them to take some sort of punishment. The toe guard was ok but not as secure as the other options and I ended up with 3 pretty bad bruises on my toes. Also bruises under my feet - not sure if the missing flagstone is to blame. Again, the trail was tough so the shoe isn't entirely to blame, but I was expecting better protection and durability. Lowered my original 5 stars to 3.
