These are great if you have the right house. They didn't work for us at all. You should have a smooth brick with visible grout lines. My brick is structured in such a way that most of the brick is pressed against the holder and therefore does not hold easily. We wanted to use them in two places. We could bend one a bit to use it in one place and do nothing to make it usable elsewhere. Part of our problem is that the grout almost ran over the edges of the brick, leaving it with no room to "grab" the brick. If your grout almost reaches the brick or extends past the brick, it won't work for you.
