I don't usually write reviews but I'm writing this because of the many bad reviews on this thing. I've owned it for about 90 days now. This is after a failed purchase of a hose which I returned. I think people are too ignorant to understand how air conditioning works. They shouldn't even be sold with separate hoses. As far as I can tell, Winter is the only company with an ethical and knowledgeable designer. This unit recycles water for efficiency, has dual hoses to keep hot air from being sucked in through other windows, and a host of other great features not available on any of the other brands I've looked at. Design-wise, this thing really is an 11/10. Especially for the price. Based on other reviews, I assume the bounce rate on these is due to idiotic users not following the instructions. "Water leaked everywhere" means the user did not drain the water. ALL AC units produce liquid water. Compressor failures are caused if the unit is not left unused in an upright position for 24 hours after receipt. ALL AC units will do this. They shouldn't be moved. I have two complaints about this piece. First, there is little sealing between the high and low pressure sides. So it still pulls a lot of air out of the room. Second, the build quality was TERRIBLE. Half a dozen pieces of plastic were floating somewhere around the package. The two halves of the crib were also misaligned and didn't fit together. I had to loosen a few screws to get the case to fit like it should. This device should not have been shipped in this condition. So 11/10 for the design. 2/10 for assembly. And if you're too stupid to read instructions, you don't deserve to be cool.
