I bought this product to solve the slow hot water problem. Installation was pretty easy, make sure you install a check valve before the unit! I also added ball valves in case of a future failure. It worked fine right away, but the pump noise was a lot louder than I expected. I also added a pump mounting plate for stability. You can probably do without it, but for reassurance, it was a no-brainer as I didn't want a broken pipe and flooding from an awkward angle. other fittings
