Very happy with 8KS to protect my expensive mountain bike. If I had to do it again I would probably go for 10 KS, but be aware that these are very heavy chains. 8KS = 8mm = 5/16" thick metal links. Evolution 4 series lock. But at 14mm it was TOO heavy. It would have damaged my carbon frame on my mountain bike in Santa Cruz. Maybe it's perfect for motorcycles but I couldn't I don't venture out on a bike so I ordered a factory (custom) Abus SEVEN 8ft chain Why See my pics - RockyMounts SplitRail Taylor Security So be sure to measure before ordering a chain you can also order a custom length black abus sleeve from taylor security I layered it in two layers for extra cushioning not really necessary but I love my bike a 10KS hub it took a while to put the double sleeves on but it was worth it if you order the 6ft precut security chain sold here, sleeve already attached Which castle I have an Abus 37/55HB50 RK Granit Extreme Security Steel-V Padlock used with a 2 inch shackle.
