I took these safety wire pliers to keep in my tool chest along with the .032 spool of safety wire. He received his A&P license in June 1979 and worked in aviation until July 1995. I've used snap-on safety wire pliers for almost all of these years and my review of this red pliers is based on a comparison of these two pliers. These pliers are smaller and a curse and a blessing at the same time. The smaller size allows them to take up less space but also makes them more difficult to attach to two or more strands of wire at the same time. These pliers have a spring return on the handle, which I found out a long time ago is very useful, especially when you're in a hurry. If I went back to industry I would keep these pliers and use them for tight spots and smaller wires like .025 and .032. but certainly not for .041! I would buy another full size napkin tongs. I have no regrets buying these pliers at all and would do it again if I needed more. Just keep in mind that they are smaller and less able to handle larger gauge wire. (NOTE: I've only edited this review now because I realized I misread the dates. I worked in the airline industry until 1995, not 1985 as I originally wrote.)
