We bought these for our old pup. He had hip dysplasia and as he got older it was very difficult for him to navigate our floors. We tried a few different things: grippy paw pads, grippy socks, grips on his toenails, rugs scattered throughout the house, a sling so we could lift his butt up and down the stairs. Nothing worked. Well, the bandage worked, but not for long. Then I found these non-slip dog socks. And my old pup had a brisk walk again! He loved wearing them (although we tried socks a few years ago and he hated them!). We live in Seattle so we see some rainy days and they hold up well in the mud. They have been washed frequently (we only wore them on the back legs) and after about 2 months they started to show signs of wear but this was minor and to be expected. One thing to note is if the velcro is not properly positioned. Stains on your pup's leg, they slide down and make it difficult for your pup to walk. Finding the right place will be a bit of trial and error for a while. So keep a close eye on your puppy for the first few weeks or until he stops slipping. I found the right spot at the very end of the sock, wrapped tightly. It would be better if there was an elastic band on the velcro!
