Review on Neoteck Digital Turntable Stylus Force Scale Gauge with Blue LCD Backlight - Precision 0.01g/5.00g for Perfect Tonearm Phono Cartridge Setup by Aravind Joshi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The scale itself works perfectly, value for money is good. Excellent customer care.

I'm updating my original review in light of new information. Initially, I used an old digital scale that wasn't as accurate as this one (accurate to tenths of a gram) to set the bearing pressure. I've gotten many conflicting readings between the two scales, but I realized that my other scales were so miscalibrated that I was getting incorrect readings (3-4 tenths of a gram down) for years, resulting in my vtf being set too high. It sounded good, but there are noticeable issues with cantilever flex, alignment issues on deformed panels, etc. So I decided to trust this scale. The scale itself looks good and measures to the hundredth of a gram. It also has an accuracy of a few hundredths for various test objects. It's great, especially for the money. I align a star because the measuring area where you place the pen is not exactly straight. The height of the metal measuring tongue varies between 4 and 6 mm from side to side. Maybe I got a defective one. In fact, and this speaks volumes for their customer support as a group, Neoteck contacted me after I posted my last review to ask if there was anything they could do to resolve the issue. I was convinced at the time that I would just keep using my other scales and I was only missing about $12 so I didn't respond, but appreciate that they were willing to exchange items, even offer a refund . That kind of direct customer service is rare these days. In practice, the uneven measuring tab is only a minor issue as the dead center seems to be exactly 5mm (so I remove my mat and measure the pin and it's about where it should be for normal playback. Besides, it's not so) It doesn't seem to affect the measurement no matter where on the tab you drop the weight. The results are the same, the only concern for me is getting the correct height from my disc. All in all money well spent. If you want cheap vtf scale, doo Work with these guys, you won't regret it.
