Review on πŸ”₯ Justrite 7150110 Gallon 16 875 Galvanized: Ultimate Storage Solution for Flammable Liquids by Rick Rogers

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good construction but can be messy and also leaks a lot of fumes. Not suitable for emergency vehicle refueling or seasonal fuel storage

First off I have to say yes it is durable and well made. This can be fine if you want to get to a gas station quickly to fill up your small gardening tools, but not ideal for seasonal fuel storage or using as an emergency fuel station for your car. Two things are really disturbing. me about this product, one of which is that I had to go for the "Accuflow" version. Cons #1: When you open the lid, you literally pour into the included plastic funnel. I found it very messy trying to fill the car. I had to pick it up and let it flow just enough (haha no pun intended) to fill 5 gallons. It was a mess, this flimsy plastic funnel fits in the tank like a baby bib and you twist it to drain the fuel. It might work well on a lawnmower that's closer to the ground, but on a car where the tank is about waist-high, it's not perfect at all. Cons #2: The lid is lined with a rough sheet of cork, so fumes don't seal in very well. This allows the fuel to vaporize freely and also your barn to collapse, you may also find your fuel dissipating into thin air. I prefer coating the lid/lid with, for example, fire-rubber to create a tighter seal and prevent rapid evaporation. because the lid/cap is already spring-loaded so it can pop off by itself if you push too hard. However, since it's not an airtight seal, fumes are constantly escaping at a fairly high rate. This annoyed me a lot because I was going to use it to store fuel for a season or two (yes I know you need a fuel stabilizer for that). accuflow version, especially if you want to use it for seasonal fuel storage or as a car emergency tank. I know it costs almost twice as much, but what good is a product if it doesn't meet your needs (again, it depends on your needs, but I don't find it ideal for emergency fueling or seasonal storage).
