Review on Retekess Shortwave Portable Transistor Batteries by Charles Collier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wow, nice sound.

This radio has a very pleasant sound and is very loud when turned up. FM stations are very, very clear, there aren't many AM stations, and shortwave isn't available where we live (in the country). I checked the USB with mp3 and it plays fine. It is a pity that the administration is made so cheap. Compare this to our radio control in the US. No comparison. The US is the undeniable winner. The selection handles should be bigger and the selection text could be more prominent/bigger. Also, the selection handles as they are now make it hard to know what you've selected, since there's no "clicking" when you're on the selection when that makes sense. There are 2 such buttons, one goes left or right to select radio or USB, which is easy enough. The other knob moves left, center, or right for FM, AM, or SW. If the seller improved the controls, this radio would cost $50, not now. Still, I decided to keep it for myself since I bought it for my mother. She is happy with that and only wanted a small radio. The height and weight are perfect for her and she has the radio on her bedside table. Runs on 3D batteries or plugs into an outlet. In any case, the radio plays well. Setting up the radio for mom is easy as you just turn the knob and listen to the stations. Radio station numbers are big enough to be read, but this is not necessary as the volume can be very loud and is good for only hear the stations because she is hard of hearing. I would buy one but not before as they improve management or lower the price. My mother is not as picky as I am.
