This radio has a very pleasant sound and is very loud when turned up. FM stations are very, very clear, there aren't many AM stations, and shortwave isn't available where we live (in the country). This is an excellent tabletop radio, portable enough to take and listen to anywhere. D-type batteries and power cord make it versatile. Micro/SD and USB slots (all 3) are very good. Sitting on the outside wall of my house and near the window, it's MUCH MORE true than I can tune into one of my cars or other tuners around the house (AM and FM).
