Review on Cat6 CMR Riser (CAT6E) Ethernet Cable 1000Ft Industrial Electrical by Kory Shelton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not as good as Belden

Not as good as Belden or Carol, but works well. The color coding is bold and easy to read, unlike some cables where it's difficult to tell solid from striped. I wish the insulation on the wire itself was a little thinner and not that difficult to strip, but when making UDP cables it only matters that RJ45 crimps can make contact easily, which they seem to do most of the time. . I use it from time to time for multi-wire connections that I know won't take physical strain. The copper seems to be of pretty good quality, not aluminized which is good. All in all a decent cable for the price. The shell is strong enough to withstand a fair amount of pull, making it well suited for plenum work, although there is no plenum rating listed on the box. But no shield. I thought I'd buy a shielded one. Well, I've found plenty of uses for it no matter what. However, it has been tested TIA-568-2C, which according to the standard can withstand higher temperatures, so plenum units can be suitable for it.

Pros
  • Cables and Connections
Cons
  • Crumpled
