The design and build quality are good - heavier and slightly thicker on top than the SNES controller. Theoretically works with many platforms, but I only use it with the Nintendo Switch. The keys start out a bit clicky, but soften a bit with use. Decent battery life, and there's quite a bit packed into the small device. Unfortunately, the compromises made to achieve this at an average price point are pretty obvious. It sometimes takes two or three attempts to connect to the Switch, it turns off and on much earlier than the joycons, and has a slight but barely noticeable lag (this can be caused by using other Bluetooth devices nearby since they don't appear to be constant). Vibration is so-so; For example, in Animal Crossing you can usually tell the difference between a fish gnawing on a line and a fish hanging on a hook. There isn't much about it. It's like he has medium and high vibrations but no low ones. Finally, if you turn on the controller while it is charging, you will not be able to connect wirelessly. You need to disconnect, connect, and then reconnect. It also doesn't wake the console from sleep, but I understand this is a Nintendo feature, not 8Bitdo. Sounds like a lot of negativity, but to be honest I love using it and you probably do too. Just don't use it if you need high performance.
