So first things first. He does what he says he must do. It is excellent for mixing ingredients for soups. However, I will be returning this and the main reason for my return is that it is difficult to clean. The self-cleaning mode is practically useless. All blenders have a self-cleaning mode, which means you fill the jug with water, add some washing-up liquid and stir the mixture. That's all it does and doesn't clean the glass at all. Worst of all, you can't unscrew the blades to clean the bottom of the jar, so there's always some food stuck right under the blades. And it always smells, even after I've really cleaned it with a sponge and brush. The smell is less on a glass jar than on a plastic lid. No matter how hard I clean it, the smell won't go away. Anyway, great concept and idea and it does what it's supposed to do but over time I'm afraid there will be more smell and more cleaning issues. So I'm sending this back.
