Review on Wii Soft Maracas Nintendo by Lyle Stepp

Unfortunately not much better than just playing with Wii Remotes

We really like Samba De Amigo but you need Wii Maracas to enjoy the game. There are different types of maracas for this Wii game and this is the third one (DreamGear's second set) that we bought. There are a few things to consider when choosing a Wii Maracas: Many, especially the cheaper variants, are only Wii Remote and NUNCHUCK (no second remote adapter). However, if you want to use additional Wii Remotes, the game plays much better with 2 Wii Remotes than with a Nunchuck and a Remote. - There are foam and plastic head maracas: the plastic maracas can be heavy (and some large) for those with small hands and children, while the foam variant also offers extra protection if the player gets addicted to the game! Some plastic ones also have lights in their heads that light up when the maracas are shaken - this can add to the fun but also add weight. 2. Console. Pros: - They're fairly light compared to other DreamGEAR maracas (ASIN B001HC09M4), a pair of light-up red plastic heads (it also requires batteries to fit the heads so they add weight, making them the heaviest maracas) . - Grips are thinner and easier to grip, ideal for small hands or children - Foam heads offer some protection for/against overly energetic players Cons: - Unfortunately they are cheaply made. The connection between the head and the remote tripod is very fragile. After just a few uses (received less than a month ago) the connection to the base station was already lost at one of the remote base stations. If you have a pair of these or plan to order one: If you're only going to use them with two remotes, I recommend putting glue on the stand-to-head joint before it breaks. If it's already broken, just glue the 2 parts together. The only downside to this is that you can no longer switch the stand for use with nunchucks (or vice versa). Help the player "get into the circles". Playing this pair requires extra practice and can be quite frustrating at times. it often feels like the game is only played with remote controls: your hands touch the dots, but the Wii doesn't recognize them. We had a better playing experience with heavier pairs, which we were fed up with. **Note: Depending on which retailer you purchase them from, they may come in an orange pair instead of the white one you see in the photos. If the color of the maracas is important to you (so different colors for each child) then you can contact the seller before ordering to clarify which color is available. Summary: Not much better than just playing with Wii Remotes. and because it's easy to break, it's probably best to save money and stick with remotes, or spend more on a heavier one. of this review) - they are my first choice (good combination of weight and size. Slightly heavy but durable) or other DreamGEAR (ASIN B001HC09M4) maracas that glow - they are too heavy for me for a long game but give a good arm workout !
