Review on ๐Ÿš— Professional-grade POLYTE Foam Detailing Applicator Pad, Yellow (8 Pack, 4.3 in): Enhance Your Car's Shine with Ease! by Louis Loebis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Satisfied. Would buy again

I am an avid (non-professional) auto detailer and have been repairing cars for over 20 years. While I use a high-quality microfiber applicator for automotive applications, I use foam applicators to apply wax to my gardening equipment (e.g. lawnmowers, hand mowers, two-stage snowblowers, pressure washers, etc.) before cleaning them in the appropriate storage season (yes, I'm a Perfectionist, don't judge harshly :-)). However, over the years I have used the foam pads that came with the wax containers but have had to refill the foam pads as the existing ones wore out (I wash and reuse pads - both foam and microfiber). Thought I'd give these foam pads a try - figured out the price and things I wanted to use them for - not much of a risk of being disappointed if they were low quality. However, after they arrived and I used and washed them, I was very happy with them! They are larger and sometimes thicker than the foam pads that come with wax containers (even the pads that come from "big" car wax manufacturers). The respective images show a 'famous brand' foam pad (older/dirtier look) versus a Polyte pad (newer/cleaner look). As you can see, the Polyte pad is larger and to some extent thicker than the "brand" pad (but note that the "brand" pad is thinner due to many uses e.g .because the foam was compacted). through normal wear and tear from use). Another thing that impressed me about the Polyte pad, however, was that the density of the pad was greater than that of a "famous brand" pad (note, however, that I measured this purely by feeling how the moving pads in my arms). . So I will definitely buy these pads again if the need arises.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Update Availability
