My 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac AC Performance Settings 1-3 stopped working. After some research I've decided that the cheapest and easiest way is to try a fan resistor. After watching a video on YouTube and seeing what was wrong, I decided to replace it myself. This completely fixed the problem. I bought this option with an extra wiring harness just in case I took any parts that needed replacing. I figured a few bucks more wouldn't be such a big deal if I had one just in case. As a side note, while you have a fully disassembled fan, clean the A/C evaporator to replace this part. Mine was clogged and dirty and now the AC works much better.
