I bought this as an upgrade to my existing DVR which was 700 TVL but not HD. The cameras show a very clear picture compared to the old non-original cameras I had. They have the same shape as most of them. The plastic is thin and cheap. Cameras move even when locked. On my original cameras, they were metal and solid, and once locked they didn't move. They see better at night and for the camera that came with the DVR they are good quality and have a wide field of view so that's a plus. The DVR itself works well and I was able to use existing cables to connect the cameras without having to create new cables. The app is way better than what I had before. So far I've only been able to watch live broadcasts, but this allows me to watch recordings, but it's a bit cumbersome. It doesn't work well at first unless you close it and allow it to log in again. Then no problem. The recorded view seems to get stuck at certain points and accept random feedback. I think I'm doing something wrong, but who knows. I was able to get it to work over time when I needed it, but I'm not sure I would choose to do that. I used to have to stand and do it in person, so it's still better than what I had. QR code to find the DVR and no firewall setting makes it easy to set up. It also allows you to do it manually, but I haven't tried this setup. Overall satisfied and enjoy higher quality. I took off a star for the cheaper quality of the cameras and buggy app, but it's still functional and good value.
