I was able to fit a 12 month Moleskine weekly calendar into a full pocket of this cover while keeping some field notes for general note taking and the notebook strap on the other side. It folds easily for both notebooks (although it's a little tricky for a tiny notebook as it's so thin compared to a Moleskine journal). I'm left-handed and can write left-handed on the notepad. The field notes on the right are a bit more difficult to write as the planner is much thicker, but it wasn't actually any more difficult than writing in a spiral notebook. I think this will get easier as I complete more pages in the field notes. The pen loop is a nice touch. I wondered why it was sticking out through the slot in the notebook's cover and originally holding the pen in the cover when I only had field notes in there. When I added the planner, I noticed that my favorite pen is now too big to fit properly in there. That's when I noticed that you can slide the pen holder to the other side and clip it in on the outside. It seems that all the details are pressed very tightly. Nothing looks like it will come loose at any time. However, since the few times I've slipped the pen in and out of the loop, I've seen a lot of marks coming from the pen clip that slides over it so often. I'm not sure what the strap on the front of the case is for. Unfortunately, it never fits in a pocket of the vast majority of women's pants. But that's the fault of years of pants versus pockets, not notebooks/cases. Although I carry it quietly in my jacket pockets.
