Overheats when 12V is applied.

Nice picture. Compact. Good light collection in low light. Unfortunately, the device overheats and switches off and on with 12 V input. I connected the 6V input and everything was fine. My source is 12V so I had to return it. The specification should not be from 5V to 36V.
