When I saw this, I couldn't resist buying it for my daughter. She just turned 1 year old. This is an average size for her age and she can sit on it, but she needs to get a little taller before she is comfortable. My 5 year old son enjoyed helping me build it and then riding it. This is a very durable toy that will stand up to rough play. It comes completely disassembled. The instructions were easy to follow. The only step I stumbled across was the "back" which sits at an angle but you won't notice and the instructions don't state it and the picture doesn't show it well. The back goes on and then the tail mounts to the screw for the back so I had to go back a few steps to fix the back in place. All in all a nice toy! It would be great for a photo shoot too!
