I wear a size 36 in American jeans. This is how I found out that all of my "36" jeans were actually over 36 inches in circumference, which is probably meant to make us feel like we're not as fat as we actually are and make the pants bigger, without telling us. I even have a size 36 Wrangler that I drop. This belt 36 is too small for me. So I decided to pull out my handy tape measure to see what happened. From the center hole to the base of the buckle, where the hole naturally lay, was exactly 36 inches. The last hole is about 38 inches. So Timberland was very accurate in their measurements and even offered a bit more room, and apparently all the companies I buy pants from are a bit more forgiving and add a few inches to fit me. It's not Timberland's fault this belt is too small for me. However, I need to continue to lose weight before I can use this. Seems to be great quality and looking forward to using it haha
