Doesn't work with new Apple M1 chip - disconnects in sleep mode

This cable will work until your new Apple M1 computer goes to sleep. This permanently disconnects the connection. To get it back you have to unplug the cable and plug it back in. At least it annoys me a lot. I ended up using a regular USB cable and plugging it into the Apple USB-C to USB port. Since then, USB hasn't broken the connection; even when the Mac is sleeping. This cable can work as a temporary solution, but it's not a long-term solution.
