Review on πŸ”Œ Jabra QD to 2.5MM Jack Cord - Quick Disconnect for Enhanced SEO by Michael Cleveland

I got more than I asked for!

First I want to say that this adapter works great. This allows me to use the Jabra GN2100 headset with Panasonic KX-TGA660 cordless handsets. The connections are secure at both ends. There is no wobble, no intermittent shutdowns, no traffic noise. The only thing I didn't expect was the cord between the ends. I ordered what I thought was a relatively small adapter - about 6 inches from end to end. But what I got was much longer. It has coiled wire between the terminals and is about 24 inches long. I think it will stretch to about 6 feet. I don't know if this was a bug or an intentional replacement. The plastic bag it was shipped in has a label with part number 1005143 on top of another label with part number 8800-01-46. I can see the words "Cord 2m Coiled" but the rest of the description is obscured by the top label. I searched the internet for a coiled adapter and it costs about $25 - significantly more than I paid. For that reason, and also because I didn't want to mess around with returns and risk even more confusion, I decided to keep it to myself. A longer cable has its pros and cons. I had an old headset model with the same short adapter that the wire started to break (after about 10 years). When I was sitting at my desk with my phone on the table, I would sometimes accidentally pull the phone off the table. Since the cord was short and didn't reach the floor, it often came loose or yanked the headset from your ear. This doesn't happen with a longer cable. I have yet to remove the phone from the table and if I did it would fall to the floor and the cord would just stretch without pulling on the headset. On the other hand, the twisted wire weighs a bit more and I feel the extra weight on my ear (I use an earhook with the headset). When I get up and walk around with my phone strapped to my pocket, the extra length of cord can snag on things - a bit annoying. After using the longer adapter for a few weeks I ordered another 1005143. from another seller and I got what I originally expected. I use it most of the time but have the spiral as a backup or in case my preferences change. If you are ordering from this seller (American Telecom HQ) it would be a good idea to ask them what part they are shipping before you. order.
