Bought this for my husband who broke his ankle, put a plate and screw between two bones to reconnect the tendon to fix. After 10 weeks he finally gave up big boots and switched to compression stockings and this ankle brace all day. His PT said it was the best thing she had ever seen. We have purchased several ankle braces locally and from Revain and none have been as strong as this one. The wrap begins with the laces in the front (just like regular shoes), then each strap wraps in the front, then under the heel and up. There is a third strap from back to front to keep everything stable. We bought a strap that started with laces, but it was just laces held together and Velcro on the other side. My husband's foot was so swollen that the laces didn't reach the Velcro. Therefore, this lace-up front version is more suitable for ankle resizing due to swelling. It took him a few times to get used to it, but it was worth it. He has started playing golf and you need a bandage on uneven surfaces.
