Because otherwise no one will write a review about the size.

Because nobody else writes a review about the size. I post a picture. Measure around the ankle one inch around the ankle and sizes will adjust accordingly. I tore 3 ligaments and this brace helps relieve pain by restricting movements that cause pain. Very light but powerful!

I wish I could return this.

This orthosis is very uncomfortable and difficult to put on. The laces have to be pulled almost all the way in order for the brace to open wide enough for the foot to be inserted, meaning it has to be completely replaced each time. I have a hard time pulling the laces tight enough along the curve of my ankle to get the support I need, but I need to be looser at the lace and calf so it doesn't feel like she or cutting the edges of the orthosis into my skin. . When I read the description of this…

Excellent mounts (and compares to McDavid 195)

I have been happy with McDavid mounts for a number of years but as one of them eventually fell apart I decided to try the Shock Doctor version. SD is better for several reasons: Less bulky. SD feels lighter. - Short toe to heel. This can be seen in the photos. SD is on the right foot and McD is on the left foot. The SD is a solid inch shorter. I have semi-ossified spurs (tarsalbump?) on the top of my feet and the SD fits much better. McD covers up and annoys him. The SD is short enough not to…

The best ankle brace I've tried and I've tried a lot.

I have struggled with an ankle injury for many years and this is still my favorite brace after trying many different types. My first shock doctor is finally showing some wear after 4 years of fairly constant use, so I'm happy with the durability on offer here. It doesn't have the same issues with other curly braces of the same style. The heel cut goes far enough under the foot that you don't feel the seam on the heel. Likewise, the leading edge of the part of the stirrup under the foot does not

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are cons too

I finally went to the orthopedist after ankle pain. His diagnosis was peroneal tendonitis associated with posterior tibial tendon dysfunction. Nothing to do with bones, all soft tissue and foot/ankle started to turn outwards. So he sent me to the grocery store next door. They gave me braces for $30 and charged me $600 out of courtesy. Since I knew it wasn't bone and the orthosis was really helping, I figured that as an engineer, I could do the same. So I ordered about 8 different styles of…

Excellent lateral support and ankle compression

I have used dozens of similar products over the years, this is by far one of the best. Pros: * High quality materials and workmanship (very good quality for the price) * Provides adjustable lateral support on the inside and outside of the ankle with non-stretch straps * Lace-up boot provides excellent compression and all-around ankle support * Upper brace provides adjustable pressure on the upper part of the Achilles tendon * No metal eyelets to press against your foot * Fits easily into shoes…

Serious support! suitable for medical supplies and gear

Bought this for my husband who broke his ankle, put a plate and screw between two bones to reconnect the tendon to fix. After 10 weeks he finally gave up big boots and switched to compression stockings and this ankle brace all day. His PT said it was the best thing she had ever seen. We have purchased several ankle braces locally and from Revain and none have been as strong as this one. The wrap begins with the laces in the front (just like regular shoes), then each strap wraps in the front…

Pros
  • Comfortable low profile lace loops with pre-curved tongue

Excellent support, lacing allows for personalization

Excellent lacing system - allows you to adjust the fit (loose or tight) by any micro area between the eyelets. The eyelets are similar to the Nike Speed lacing system. So I assumed that by pulling the laces at the top you could tighten the entire brace. Not at all. Pull from above, only the top part is tightened. Not sure if it has to do with snagging the laces or loops (or both). Regardless, I keep mine semi-loose in the foot area, very tight at the ankle, and semi-loose near the calf. I love…

Excellent brace, best medical products and equipment

I tore two ligaments in my ankle. I rehabilitated him and my physical therapist recommended a figure eight brace for me as I travel for work and tend to push too hard too quickly. Pros Stability, my ankle isn't going anywhere. I wore these 5 weeks after the first injury when my ankle was still swollen from surfing. There are a few other ways your foot can move it, which can be a little painful when surfing, but nothing serious. It's comfortable in my shoes. It's winter now and I wear a lot of…
