Not enough power for our big girls.

We bought these special collars for our two black labs. One weighs 81 pounds and the other 93 pounds. Keep in mind that in an emergency this is not the case, for example if your fat dogs are chasing a runner and I mean they are absolutely NOT affected. I cranked that jerk to 127 and they barely swayed. I pulled a muscle in my stomach, yelled at them, pushed the shock buttons like my life depended on it, and they were still chasing the runner (whom they see every morning). The chaos that erupted that morning between the screeching jogger, the dogs pretending to destroy the world, and me yelling at them like some kind of psycho, partly because they were acting like rabid wild animals, partly off Anger at our brand new shock collars didn't do what they were supposed to do, waking up my sleepy little town and leaving people stunned and confused at the commotion that just happened. It was terrible. My husband mentioned that my collars are not tight enough. I think it was because I ALWAYS tug on them and put two fingers between my neck and collar to check the fit every time I put them on. I always feel like they're on the verge of getting tight, but apparently you have to choke them to make them work. The teeth are tiny and their neck is covered with 42 layers of skin. There just isn't enough power behind them to get the job done. We had a big set, we rarely shot it very far, and it amazed her. This set, at 127, hasn't changed much. Full disclosure for those looking to buy Dogtra shock collars these are great collars. This is in no way a review of the company. We've had a set before but they were bigger and more powerful and they were amazing, not to mention they had to be almost 15-20 years old before the remote finally gave out. I should also mention that when I called the company to see if I could easily replace the specified remote for this particular set they were a bit surprised to learn we had any problem at all as they usually have more had life in them. They asked me to send the remote control so they could have a look and test it. When they discovered the problem it was quite expensive to fix but they were happy to do it if we wanted to keep our original set. When I asked for a new set we were offered a discount on the latest model. (Remember he was almost 20 years old) At that time we declined. I would like to say that I was very pleased with the customer service and was pleased to hear that they were amazed that our "20 year old" shockers were finally deflated. It's just that this particular collar is definitely meant for a small dog, but I feel like the words in the description are a little unclear. for some. I highly recommend Dogtra, just make sure you choose the right size for your dog and read the description carefully. "Up to 10 pounds" and "up to 10 pounds only" are two different things. If your large dogs tend to be as stubborn as ours, use one of the large dog collars they recommend. On the Dogtra website you can access a short questionnaire to help you find out which one is best for you. On a note. I did and got my recommendation but my husband was convinced they would be perfect based on other Revain reviews. and here we are. I will still give them 4 stars as I don't feel it is because of the products that they are not intended for large dogs and the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I read in the description guess it should be like that. By the way. The runner was fine. Ding Dongs forgot who he was for a while.
