Review on CAMVATE V-Lock Power Plate Splitter for Monitor Video Cameras and Camcorders by Jamie Richard

Battery doesn't hold securely - loses power

I tried using this with a Comer D&O Lighting 95Wh battery. The battery connects to the tablet fairly well, but you have to apply quite a bit of pressure to engage the contacts and use the tablet's power options. After turning it on, I was able to turn on my BMPCC 4K camera and Atomos Ninja V. However, I have found that there is some play when the battery is locked. This movement is sufficient to disconnect the battery from the tablet power ports, thereby losing power to all tablet power ports. The LED that indicates the panel has power will turn off and everything connected to the panel will turn off as well. Things connected to the battery itself via the D-Tap connector still work, so I know it's only the plate losing power, not the battery. Note that the battery doesn't fall off the plate - the problem is that it wiggles just enough to disengage from the power connectors on the plate. Normal use in the field will probably be enough to knock it out. I can't take that risk, so I had to send it back.
