Review on ๐Ÿ’ป Rii Primer RGB Compact Gaming Office Keyboard RK104 - Backlight, 87 Keys, No Number Pad - Ideal for Windows PC Laptop Desktop by Melissa Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

only tkl rubber dome on the market

i like this keyboard very much, it does exactly what i need, no more or less. However, everything was clearly advertised and for the price, my expectations were quite low. As such, I can safely say that this keyboard has exceeded my expectations for the price. I have used a Microsoft Digital Media 3000 keyboard for 15 years. Obviously I liked it a lot, but they're getting very expensive and hard to find, and I've been in the market to upgrade to a TKL board so I have fewer mouse-keyboard collisions. Before I found this I went to Microcenter and tried almost every switch on the market. There were a lot of good switches, but they were all loud enough to drive my fiancรฉ crazy. The Microsoft keyboard I had was a rubber dome/membrane board and it quickly proved to be what I needed. I knew it would match the tactile feel I was looking for and not be too loud. Queue RK104: Turns out there is literally NO other company that makes a rubber dome TKL board other than Rii (that I could find). The good news is that if you're looking for it, you've found it, and it's not a bad option, especially given the cost. I only gave 4 out of 5 because the enter and back buttons don't have stabilizers. They're just too wide for that, and this makes the key feel sticky when it doesn't hit the center. The space bar also creaked out of the box every time it was pressed. There was nothing wrong with that, although I poured some Teflon grease on it and everything was fine.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • a few little things
