My 22 year old son sent me this for my birthday. At first I thought "the box" was a gift, like a small jewelry box, because the rose looked so beautiful in the box. Then I opened the bottom drawer and found the necklace. Honestly it took my breath away! The photos just don't convey it! When I left him a message to thank him, I really choked. I've just never seen anything so beautiful! The angel wings fold gently over the sides of the heart and as you slide the necklace back and forth the facets of the crystal heart reveal varying shades of light blue and lavender/light purple. The back of the necklace also has an intricate silver pattern and has some weight (light, not heavy at all). To be honest I was completely blown away by the beauty. I wore the necklace to church the following Sunday and everyone oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the rose on the box surprised me too. It "looked" like a real rose, but I thought it would be IMPOSSIBLE to make the rose look so realistic. I turned the box over and looked at it. At first I thought it was soldered under the acrylic case (for preservation) but then I was able to easily remove the case to have a closer look. It didn't smell like roses at all, but it didn't smell bad either. I gently stroked one of the petals and it was as soft and delicate as a rose. Then I gently picked the edge of one of the petals to see if it would snap and it did! (I just ripped it off a bit to prove to myself that it really is a real rose.) Believe me, the rose is real! I don't know how they did it, but it's really amazing. The only downside I noticed was the rather generic and random message on the rose box above the drawer which reads "Best regards. A friend is always a loving companion." It seems odd for such a lovely gift and the company should have turned it down. That being said, this is an absolutely AMAZING gift for any special woman in your life.
