Review on 🚙 Rugged Ridge 17212.20 Antenna Mount Kit for CB/AM/FM, Fits 1997-2018 Jeep Wrangler TJ/JK by Ken Coste

As another reviewer mentioned, the antenna can only be made so narrow. How tight? I don't know until it becomes too much and the copper wire inside the case gets sheared off! I contacted Rugged Ridge Customer Service for maximum torque specs, proper tightening instructions, and a new case. They sent me a new case but ignored my request for a torque specification. and instructions for proper dressing. I let the antenna run for a couple of weeks and had to tighten it up. Then he drove the jeep into the terrain, where he broke away again. It was a little harder than last time. Finally he relaxed for the third time. On the third tightening, the wire in the case burst again! I watched it from underneath with the access cover removed to make sure tightening wasn't causing too much flex. Didn't bend much before snapping. Now I attached a piece of junk to my Jeep - poor reception after the wire came loose. I have a Rugged Ridge Exo-Top and other RR products that I am happy with. Support was quick to send out the first replacement part but the poor design of this product isn't worth me trying to get another case if they can't provide correct tightening instructions and max torque specs. He drives away from the jeep. I am disappointed that I cannot recommend this product.
