Review on Pour Over Paperless Reusable Portable Stainless by Andrea Jackson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Feels cheap; dripping through the lid; Need more detailed instructions

Plastic looks cheap. The lid was difficult to open - it took me a few times to figure it out, although the marketing materials say it's easy to open with one hand. It wasn't drip proof (see video). The coffee stays warm for a while, which is nice. I've tried grinding to different numbers (my grinder lets me select speed/fineness via a numeric setting) but haven't found one that works well yet. It just takes a lot of trial and error. They say to use a medium grind (which I did - I used one in the "drip" settings panel), but it didn't seep through the filter fast enough. I tried a coarser grind, that didn't work either. The drip tray is good and I like that everything is compact and easy to carry. I expect to take it with me when I travel to Asia or Europe where you can get a kettle in the room but no coffee maker. I just really don't like that it takes a lot of trial and error to figure out how to make a "good" cup of coffee out of it. If you've mastered the casting technique, you might have better luck than me. I'm hesitating between two and three stars. I feel like it can do what it's supposed to do, and maybe I just don't have the right technique, but I should also be given more detailed instructions so I don't have to watch YouTube videos on how to do a good fill. Above. Since I'm not very impressed, I'm giving it 2 stars. If I can ever get a decent cup of coffee out of this, I might pick it up. Keep for updates.

Pros
  • Perfect for our weekend trips. We plan to use it for longer trips to Europe. It's easy to make our coffee in the morning. The coffee stays warm for a long time. Bought for travel, car rides and will prove handy for morning coffee.
Cons
