These rugs are approximately 5/8" thick depending on how you measure the pile. Thanks to other Revain reviewers, I found this to be the perfect rug for my guest bathroom. First, I love the color and it matches my Madison Park shower curtain. Second, it's thin enough that the bathroom door opens and closes above it. I have it in a guest bathroom where I don't expect it to be used extensively. Out of the box it appears to be about the same quality as other reversible bath mats I've seen. Looks great in my guest bathroom. Since they don't come with a non-slip pad, I think they're easier to clean, although I don't think I'll be doing that very often. However, non-slip rubber mats were expensive. However, I live in an apartment and cannot paint the walls and need to match the existing paintwork which makes these rugs great.
