I'm using mine as a "digital audio out" from my Samsung Chromebook Pro to an external MINI USB DAC and from there, an RCA Audio output to my speakers. Works perfectly. Just plug it in and you're done. The audio signal is much stronger and clearer than through a Chromebook's headphone jack. If the external DAC is not connected to a power source, you may need to leave power connected to your Chromebook (or other device) to keep the DAC powered on.
