As a user of Oculus and Windows Mixed Reality, I definitely expected a difference from this system. And I was right. I used this back to back for about a week with a Ryzen 7 2700 and an RTX 2070 Super and found the following: First the pros: - Modularity (can be replaced with original space and other models). - Upgrade to Index or part of it if you wish - Beautiful and almost crystal clear display - Looks amazing and very good build quality Smooth and accurate virtual reality tracking. - Very comfortable headset. Almost on par with the Rift S. Now for the cons: - A very VERY small sweet spot. It took me about half an hour to set it up to get a crystal clear picture. Vive controller included. I've never used it, but I'm not a huge fan. The button layout and trackpads were a nuisance for some gaming functions. Reminds me too much of WMR controllers. - Shake the headset (if useful). Maybe it's just a software bug and I only encountered it once, but when I launched Pistol Whip and Beat Saber, the game moved even with smooth tracking with the headset as I scanned the room. This problem was not only annoying for me, but also very nauseous. I had high settings when recording with OBS, so the problem could just be a bottleneck. While it's very hard to justify the $900 price tag, overall I'm pretty impressed with the Vive Cosmos Elite, especially given the mixed reviews. original cosmos. It can't fully compete with the Valve Index, but it's not far behind either. If you can work around the controller issues and the golden dot, you'll have a very decent experience. Even if you still want to upgrade to an index in the future, you have the freedom to do so.
